What’s in a Die Stock Set?

A complete set typically contains three main components:

1. Dies: These are circular or hexagonal tools used to cut external threads on a cylindrical rod or bolt. This process effectively turns a plain rod into a screw.
2. Taps: These are used to cut internal threads inside a pre-drilled hole, creating a nut or a threaded opening for a bolt.
3. Die Stock (Handle): This is the holding tool for the die. It features two handles for a firm grip and a central opening with set screws to securely hold the die in place while you turn it to cut the threads. A separate tap wrench is used for the taps.
